Mathematical Music (and Dance)

In this treatise, I will be telling you a little bit about how math can help you with music and dance. Hopefully, if you are a fan of music or dance, this will get you excited about math, because that is my objective. Here, I will be telling you how math can help you write music, dance better, and sing or play and instrument better. This treatise is written by a person who also loves to listen to music and dance, so it comes from the heart. I am so excited to share what I have learned and hopefully you will be too.
Math can help you write music. Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach were just some of the many talented musicians who wrote brilliant music. They all knew the importance of mathematics in their music. I have three ways that you can write music better through using math. The first is counting. The key to writing music is counting. In music, there is always a rhythm and beat. The beat consists of counting and a certain amount of notes per bar. This is why counting is so important when you write music. For the second way, like I said, songs need a beat, and counting is all that a beat is. The beat is the most important part of the song, because it portrays the message through feelings. This is why it is important to know math when you are writing music. The beat is what gets people interested in music; it’s what makes the song catchy. The third reason math can help you write music has to do with lyrics. Lyrics are really important in certain kinds of music which have lyrics. To make music, you need to have just the right amount of words added into your song and beat. Too many or too little words in the song can ruin it. That is why it is important to have the right amount of words, and to do this, you need math. You need to count and listen to make sure the song has the right amount of lyrics. Those are three ways that math can help you write music: counting the amount of notes in the song, counting to the beat in the song, and counting the amount of lyrics in the song. Writing music is all about counting, and counting is math.
Math helps you dance
If you love dancing or want to be able to learn how to dance, here is a tip: use math. Math is one of the key elements in dancing, whether you are talking about ballroom, ballet, disco, or just the hokey pokey. Why is math so important to use when you are dancing? I have three reasons. The first thing has to do with geometry. Geometry can help you with your body form in dancing, or just the shapes that you move around in on the dance floor. In ballroom, you move in shapes on the dance floor. This is geometry. Even when you are just messing around with dance moves, it is all about what shapes you move in by stepping in certain directions on the floor. In ballet especially, your body form is important and vital to how you appear when you dance. Another way math can help you to dance is timing. That is what dance is all about. You need to be able to make the right moves at the right times to the music in your dance. If your timing is off, you won’t be able to dance as well or look as good when you dance. Dance is all about timing, and timing is all about math. The third reason is an add-on to the second reason; it has to do with timing. The way math can help you dance better is counting. Dancing is all about counting your steps and your pauses. You need to be able to take a certain amount of steps to the music in certain directions at certain times. Those are three ways that math can help you to dance: through geometry, timing, and counting.
Math can help you sing better and play instruments better. A lot of people in this world can either sing or can’t sing. Or at least, they think that. I don’t believe that. I believe we all have the talent to sing inside of us, we just need to practice. You also need to use tips to sing better, and incorporate them into your singing. Everyone can do this; it’s just all in your head. The same thing goes for playing instruments. If you desire to, you can learn an instrument. Everyone can. It just takes practice and learning tips. Singing and playing instruments also takes one more thing though. That thing is math. Math is essential to singing and playing instruments in three ways. The first is counting. This is specifically for instruments, but it works with singing too. You need to be able to hit the right notes at the right time, using the right speed. I used to take piano lessons and my teacher would always make me count the notes. I know this made me a better piano player. Another way math can help you is signing on a scale. This is kind of like signing do-re-mi, so you are singing higher and lower. Practicing scales with math will help you be able to hit notes at the right tune. The third way math can help you is it will make you excited. Math is so fun, and you can get so excited about it sometimes. When you are excited, you will sing and play with more energy and passion; from the heart. This will help you sound better and love singing and playing music more. Those are three ways that math will help you sing and play music better: counting, using a scale, and getting excited about math.
That is how math can help you with music and dancing. It helps you write music, dance better, and sing and play instruments better. This is why it is so important to use math in not just music and dancing, but in our everyday lives. Math can be and is used in everything we do. I love music and dancing, and I am so glad I can use math to help me in my life. Thank you for reading this message I had for you.
